It includes appearances from Russell "Backpack Kid" Horning, who made an appearance during Perry's Saturday Night Live performance, Gaten Matarazzo, Jenna Ushkowitz, Christine Sydelko, Rob Gronkowski, Molly Shannon, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Rich Eisen, Terry Crews, and Basketball player Bill Walton. The official music video for the single was directed by Dave Meyers and released on August 24, 2017. Filming for the music video began July 18 in Los Angeles. Two days later, Perry announced a contest titled the "#SwishSwishChallenge" for dancers to appear in the song's official music video, where candidates submit videos of themselves dancing, and she would select her favorite dancer. The song is performed in the key of E♭ major with a tempo of 120 beats per minute in common time. ![]() The track runs for 4 minutes and 2 seconds. Nylon writer Sydney Gore says, "Minaj is absolutely ruthless when she comes in toward the end." Raisa Bruner of Time calls the song, "A tune about getting over the haters" and "a feisty hip-hop track that lets both artists show off their respective areas of expertise". The performance quickly went viral, with much of the attention coming towards 15-year-old Russell Horning, dubbed the "Backpack Kid".Īnna Gaca of Spin notes it is "another single that makes little sense", and "a random grab bag of Perry's vocals, obnoxious voice-altering effects, and piano flourishes, all laid over a house-inflected beat". Perry performed "Swish Swish" solo on the Saturday Night Live season finale on May 20, 2017. Live performances of the song now include the line "God bless you on your journey girl". "Honestly, it's really like she started it, and it's time for her to finish it." During the Witness World Wide live stream Perry was asked repeatedly about her feud with Swift, to which she answered she doesn't hold anything against her. On May 22, while appearing on Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show with James Corden, after singing to "Swish Swish", Corden asked Perry about a 2013 feud between her and Taylor Swift. Additionally, Nicki Minaj's verse contains the line, "Silly rap beefs just get me more checks," which addresses Minaj's own purported "beef" with rapper Remy Ma. When asked if the song was directed at anyone in particular on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Perry simply replied that the song is an anti-bullying anthem. Soon after the song was released, critics wrote how the track appeared to be a diss track in response to Taylor Swift's 2014 song, "Bad Blood". The song became available as a digital download along with the preorder of Witness. During the world premiere chained to the rhythm On FebruPerry annocued the song On May 18, 2017, Perry announced on Instagram the track would be released at midnight Eastern time.

![]() Still, no run is impossible, as Spelunky 2 ensures there’s a clear path to each level’s exit, so I tried to make sure I took advantage of the times fortune favored me. This further highlights the main pitfall of procedural generation: While skill clearly plays a large role in your overall success, luck is also a factor as some runs are significantly easier than others. It’s fun seeing the people you save appear at your camp, but too often these passageways lead to nowhere, causing me to sometimes disregard them since they’re usually wastes of time. In addition to being able to choose your path through the caves, Spelunky 2 adds new secret areas you can duck into for treasures, challenges, and even new characters to rescue and add to your community back at base. After completing the first area of the cave, do you venture into a lush jungle flooded with monkeys and man-eating plants? Or do you want to brave the volcanic foundry full of explosive robots and fire-spewing ladybugs? I love getting to decide which world to tackle as I reach these new areas, and I’m continually impressed at how different each biome feels from the others. This time around, you can chart your path depending on the challenges you want to encounter. The procedural generation provides nearly endless levels to play through, and the distinct worlds introduce new elements and challenges to keep the experience fresh as you progress deeper into the caves. While starting over at level 1-1 can make the experience tedious, multiple visits to the deeper areas grants you the ability to start your run at that point instead. ![]() As you dig deeper into the caverns, you uncover new biomes, like an aquatic-themed area with killer fish and octopuses that are all too willing to end your run. The engrossing difficulty and randomization of the world effectively combines with that very desire to do better, providing the drive to take on another round. Maintaining the same formula as its predecessor, the engaging roguelike action-platformer drops you into a procedurally generated cave system and dares you to get further than you did last time. I’m frustrated my best-laid plans fell apart so fast, but as soon as the option to start a new run appears, I can’t select it fast enough.ĭespite the many times I’ve yelled as my character’s body bounces around like a pinball from scenarios such as that, Spelunky 2 is unceasingly fun. Why should it be any different when you quit an MLM? Again – a red flag – but I didn’t think about it at the time. Writing this now – how weird is that? In a regular job, if your friend starts working with you – you never worry about your friendship being ruined when one of you decides to quit. We were friends before Paparazzi and I wanted to remain friends afterwards. If they decided to quit Paparazzi, I never wanted it to be an issue between us. If my actual friends joined, it made me so nervous. Work part-time hours for full-time pay, right? I didn’t want anyone to add to their financial distress – the point was to get out of debt. When girls would join and then quit Paparazzi without ever selling a thing, or they would join and go into debt and then not sell anything. I didn’t want to be that annoying Mary Kay lady in the grocery aisle, right? But as friends and customers saw me being successful, they naturally wanted to join.Īs my team grew, I felt a lot of pressure and anxiety over helping my team to also be successful. When I started with Paparazzi, I had no intention of building a team. I found it interesting, though, that the “elites” did not receive these selling awards – which meant us peons were the ones doing all the work and elites were living off their teams.įor those of you familiar with MLMs, you’re screaming right now – YES! That’s how MLM works!īut at the time I didn’t realize what a huge red flag that was. I received an award, and I had been hustling and selling a LOT. At that convention, Paparazzi announced their Life of the Party program to reward consultants who were selling. It was small and intimate and everyone was so supportive.īut, even then, there were cracks beginning to show. At the first convention I attended there were only 600 consultants in attendance. When I joined Paparazzi, it was a rather new company – groundfloor as they say in the biz. I was able to pay some bills, though, so it was enough.Īt the time, I was okay with it, because it was flexible and I could be home with my babies. I tracked my expenses and understood full well I was trading my time for money. You buy the jewelry at a wholesale cost and resell it for the $5. But Did I Actually Make a Profit?įrom the beginning, I was hyper aware of the low profit margin with Paparazzi jewelry. I was in the profit zone within a few weeks and just kept going. I had never done direct sales seriously before and had absolutely no idea what I was doing, but I was NOT going to lose money, so I researched, tried new things, made a lot of mistakes, and learned a completely new skillset. One gal called me back and I got signed up that very day. So I googled some consultants and emailed 3 of them. Could I make enough money selling $5 jewelry to buy my kids an ice cream cone or pay for swim lessons? It seemed like the answer was obvious. I was a stay at home mom with 4 kids under the age of 5. I thought about it nonstop for a few months. I found one person in the town where I lived so I messaged her and asked if I could go shopping, host a party, or what did I need to do? She totally blew me off.Īnd that set the wheels in motion for me to become a consultant. It turns out it was a direct sales company – Paparazzi Accessories. Lessons use XML-based scripting to run various tutorials on individual letters on the keyboard. What are lessons in Tux Typing?Īs well as the two games, Tux Typing includes lessons that are designed to help children become touch typists. Users who like the Tux4Kids ethos and want to have more learning adventures with Tux the penguin can try TuxMath and Tux Paint. There are various alternative typing tutorials to Tux Typing including PacWriter, Typing Magic, and Typing Game Collection. The user interface is simplistic, although it does have some slightly strange user pathways, with Phrase Typing, for example, being hidden under Options rather than the main menu item. Tux Typing is an extremely easy program to set up and start using so teachers will quickly be able to get students learning how to type. This makes Tux Typing highly customizable for different users. It's also possible to edit and add to Tux Typing's word lists, creating brand-new lists or adding additional words to the existing lists. Adults as well as children, therefore, are likely to gain benefits from using Tux Typing. On the hardest levels, words fall at a very rapid rate that would test even experienced touch typists. Within these difficulty levels are different challenges from typing just the alphabet to whole words. In the main menu, you can choose a level of difficulty for both games. The second game is similar, but the aim is to stop comets from dropping in a city. If fish still have letters in when Tux swallows them, then his belly gets sore and the player loses a life.
